Los Artículos Definidos e Indefinidos (Definite and Indefinite Articles)


    An article is a word used before a noun to show whether the noun refers to a particular example of something or to a general example of something. Or An article is a word that is used with a noun to specify grammatical definiteness of the noun.
    In Spanish language likewise in English language, an article can be definite (definido) or indefinite (indefinido).

Los artículos definidos (definite articles)

   They are articles that represent nouns that are definite or known to the speaker or that which the speaker can identify. Definite articles (Los artículos definidos) in Spanish have four forms which are all equivalent to ''THE'' in English.

Masculino (Masculine)
 Femenino (Feminine)

Singular :EL
LA

Plural : LOS
LAS


Los artículos indefinidos (Indefinite articles)

   They are articles that represent nouns that are not known to the speaker, which the speaker cannot identify. Indefinite articles (Los artículos indefinidos) in Spanish have also four forms equivalent to ''A'', ''AN'', and ''SOME'' in English.

Plural: Unos

¡MUCHO OJO!

The masculine definite singular article ''EL'', when used in a sentence and is preceded by the prepositions ''a'' or ''de'' contracts.
a + el =al
de + el =del
Por ejemplo:
1. Voy a ir al colegio. I am going to go to school.
2. Han venido del campo. The have come from the countryside.
